Before you begin, it's important to check the system requirements. If your computer doesn't have a strong GPU or sufficient RAM to handle the CPU usage, it's not recommended to run these platforms. To install GPT-4 Alpaca with the Ooga Booga Installer, follow these steps:
Step 1: Download and Extract Ooga Booga Installer
Click on the download link provided and extract the zip folder to your desktop. Once the file is extracted, open it, and you will find several files.
Step 2: Run the Install.bat File
Run the install.bat file as an administrator. When prompted, select “A” if you have a GPU and “B” if you don't. The installation process will take around 15 minutes. Once completed, you will be prompted to press any key to close the command prompt window.
Step 3: Download the Model.bat File
Next, run the download_model.bat file as an administrator. This will prompt the download of different models required for the text UI to run. The file size can be quite large (around 8GB), so it may take some time to complete the download.
Step 4: Edit the Start Web UI File
Before launching the Start Web UI, open the file and edit it with Notepad. You will find the required prompt in the description below this video. Copy and paste this prompt into the file. Save your changes and close the file.
Step 5: Access the Modules
Navigate to the “text_generation” file and then go to the “modules” folder. Here, you will find the installed files after running the previous steps. Open the “git” folder and visit the huggingface.co website for the Chat GPT for Alpaca file. Click on “Clone the repository” and copy the URL. Remember, you need to have git installed on your computer for this step.
Step 6: Clone the Repository
Open the command prompt and paste the copied URL. Hit enter to clone the repository into the modules folder. Wait for the cloning process to complete, and then proceed to the final step.
Step 7: Launch the Start Web UI
Run the Start Web UI as an administrator. It might take a few seconds to load, depending on your computer's compatibility. If any prompts appear asking you to open additional modules, follow the instructions. Select the GPT-4 Alpaca option by entering the corresponding number and hit enter. This will open the web UI for the large language model.

Congratulations! You have successfully installed GPT-4 Alpaca on your computer. Now, you can start generating text using the web UI. It's also possible to fine-tune the model by using raw files and models to enhance the output.
