The Ultimate AI Video Generator: Converting Wikipedia to YouTube Videos using Canva and AI

Wikipedia: The Online Encyclopedia Maintained by Volunteers

Welcome, everyone! I'm Ben Mellor, and today I want to talk to you about an incredible opportunity to create video content using the unlimited data available on Wikipedia. As many of you already know, Wikipedia is a widely popular online encyclopedia that offers free content on a vast array of topics. It is collaboratively maintained by volunteers from all around the world. With articles available in numerous languages, Wikipedia sees an astounding 10 billion page views each month. Now, imagine the possibilities if you could turn all that information into engaging video content. In this video, I'll guide you through an easy, step-by-step process for creating videos using content from Wikipedia. So, without further ado, let's dive right in!

Step 1: Finding Your Niche with Google Bard

To kickstart the process, we need to choose a topic or niche. For researching purposes, we can use Chat GPT, an artificial intelligence chatbot. However, the free version of Chat GPT does not have access to web pages. Thankfully, there is a free alternative called Google Bard. Let's open our browser and search for Google Bard. Click on the first link, and you'll find yourself on Google Bard's interface. Google Bard is a conversational generative chatbot developed by Google.

Next, type in “10 most popular Wikipedia niches” in the message box. Google Bard will provide you with a list of the most popular niches on Wikipedia. You can choose any niche from the options presented. For this example, I'll select the history niche. Now, ask Google Bard for the 10 most popular history articles on Wikipedia. Google Bard will analyze the history articles and provide a list of 10 articles with the highest page views. This means that these articles are already popular, making them ideal candidates for our video. Choose one of the articles. In this case, I'll select World War II.

Step 2: Refining the Article with Bard AI

Once you have selected your topic, go to Wikipedia and search for the chosen article. In this example, I'll search for “World War II.” The article will provide you with a wealth of information on the chosen topic. However, it is not feasible to create a video using the entire article. Before creating the video, a bit of refinement is necessary. Copy the article link and return to Google Bard.

Now, ask Bard AI to rewrite the article in a shorter version for tutorial purposes. For this example, I'll request a rewrite of the article in under 300 words. You can use as many words as you want based on your requirements. Google Bard will analyze the Wikipedia article and provide a shorter, rewritten version. If you're not satisfied with the result, you can regenerate it or even listen to an audio version. Once you have the rewritten version, it's time to move on to video creation.

Step 3: Creating the Video with Deep Real AI

To create a virtual presenter for your video, we'll be using Deep Real AI. With Deep Real AI, you can generate realistic AI avatar videos. This tool is also integrated with Canva, which provides even more options for customization. First, you need to create an account. Click on the sign-up button and enter your email address. You'll receive a one-time password in your email inbox. Copy the code and paste it into Deep Real AI. Now, you have access to the Deep Real AI video generator.

Before starting the video creation process, let's generate an intro script for our video. Click on “create new script” and provide the necessary instructions. Select the template, such as “freestyle,” and write a YouTube video intro about World War II in the prompt section. Choose a tone, like “friendly.” Once you've set all the instructions, click on the “generate content” button. Deep Real AI will generate three scripts for you to choose from.

Now that we have our intro and video script ready, we can proceed to video creation. While you can generate videos using the Deep Real dashboard, I will be using Canva for this example. If you're wondering where to find Deep Real AI on Canva, simply go to the homepage and click on “apps.” Scroll down to the “AI-powered apps” tab, and you'll find Deep Real AI listed there.

On Canva, you can either create a new design or use a previous one. In this case, I'll create a new design specifically for videos. Select the video design option, and then connect your Deep AI account. Click on the “connect” button and enter your registered email address. You'll receive a new OTP in your mailbox. Copy the code and connect it to your account.

Now, you can see the realistic avatars available. Take a look at them, they look astounding! Click the “see all” button to explore all the avatars and select the one that suits your video. Choose the background color as well. For this example, I'll use a green background. Copy the intro script from Deep Real AI and paste it into the script box in Canva.

To ensure the language is accurate, select your desired script language. In my case, it will be English with a US accent. If you're curious about the voiceover, you can click on the preview button to listen to a sample. Once you're satisfied, click on the “generate video” button. Please note that it may take some time for the video to be generated.

Congratulations! Your first video is now ready. Insert the video onto the creator page and adjust the size as needed. Take a moment to appreciate the quality and how engaging it turned out to be.

Step 4: Creating Additional Videos

Now, let's move on to creating our second video using the script generated by Google Bard. Copy the first paragraph of the script and head over to Canva. Click on the “create” button on the creator page, select the same character used in the previous video, and choose a different background color. Paste the script into the designated area, and then click on the “generate video” button.

Since Deep Real AI only allows one-minute video creation at a time, we need to create multiple pages for our complete script. To do this, click on the plus icon and create a new page. Insert the next video on this page, and continue this process until all the videos have been added. Don't forget to edit each video to make them visually appealing.

To further enhance the videos, let's add some elements. On the first page, create a studio-like environment. Go to the “element” tab and search for “studio” to find suitable images. Select an image that fits your preferences and insert it into the video page. Adjust the size accordingly and send it backward by pressing Ctrl + the backward key on your keyboard.

Search for a rectangle frame and select it. Place it next to the actor, and if desired, set the timing for when this screen should appear in the video. To add video footage, search for “World War II” in the element tab. Choose a suitable footage and drag it onto the frame.

For the second page, use a video footage as the background. Insert a video and select it as the background. Follow the same process for the third page, but this time, place the actor's video within a circle frame. Search for a circle frame in the element section, choose one, and place it on the third page. Then, drag the actor's video onto the circle and adjust the size if necessary.

Once you've finished editing the videos and adding elements, it's time to include background music. Scroll down in the elements section to find the audio tab. Search for music that complements your video and add it to the timeline. Adjust the volume as needed. Once everything is set, download the video.

And there you have it! Your video is now complete. Feel free to watch it and admire the engaging content you created. Remember, you can always put in extra effort to make your videos even more stunning.

  1. Hi great video, I have followed the instructions but unfortunately, I don't get the screens or the results that you are getting. I don't know if it's because I was already signed up to Canva but the results are disappointing to say the least. Shame. 🙁
