It's incredible how you can generate such high views and earnings by creating short videos. The best part is, it only takes 10 to 15 minutes of your time to create 100 of these videos. So, in this tutorial, I, Ben Mellor, will guide you through four simple steps on how to create these viral YouTube shorts and even automate their scheduling. Let's dive in!
Step 1: Choosing Your Niche
To begin with, it's crucial to choose the right niche for your YouTube shorts channel. Without the right niche, your shorts will never take off. One popular niche is the quiz niche, which can be divided into text-based and image-based quizzes. Interestingly, many YouTubers are currently showcasing their daily facts channels and encouraging others to create shorts based on these facts. These channels have millions of views, but shockingly, they earn zero revenue because they have been demonetized due to the repetitive nature of their content.
On the other hand, let's look at a riddle channel. These channels can earn anywhere from $385 to $4.6k, which is a decent earning. The key difference is that these riddle channels are monetized. Therefore, we are going to focus on creating riddle videos for our shorts channel. Now, let's move on to scripting in the next step.
Step 2: Creating the Riddle Script
To create the riddles for your shorts, we will be using Chat GPT 3.5. You need to paste the exact prompt provided for a riddle channel, which will be given in the description. This prompt specifies that you need to create 50 quick riddles with titles, hooks, and bodies. I have also provided examples of how these elements should be structured.
Once you have pasted the prompt, click on the “send message” option and wait for a while until the table is generated. Depending on the number of riddles you want to create, you may need to repeat this process three to four times to reach your goal of 100 riddles. Simply copy the generated riddles and open a Google sheet. Paste the riddles into the sheet and make any necessary modifications. Don't forget to save a copy of the sheet in CSV format.
Step 3: Creating the YouTube Shorts
To create the YouTube shorts, we will be using Canva. However, please note that the main option I will be using is a pro feature of Canva. I recommend signing up for the 30-day free trial, which will be provided in the description. You can cancel anytime within the trial period.
Once you're logged in, search for “YouTube shorts” in the search bar and select a blank template. In the Element section, search for “moving background” and choose a suitable option. Set it as the background for your short. Next, adjust the playback speed to around 40 seconds, as shorts should be concise.
Now, let's add the riddle text. Use the text option and select a text box. Take the first riddle option from your CSV file and paste it into the text box. You can modify the case, color, font, and other formatting options as desired. Repeat this process for all the riddle options. Group the first two options together and set the timings accordingly. The hook and body should remain until the end, while the options should vanish, and the correct answer should appear at the appropriate timing. Adjust the timings for each element accordingly.
Assuming everything looks good, click on the “Bul Create” option and ensure that all the data is connected properly. Once all the connections are established, click on “Continue” and generate 30 designs for your riddles. Review the designs and make any additional changes if needed. Finally, click on “Share” and download the MP4 file of your shorts.
Step 4: Scheduling Your Shorts
To schedule your shorts, we will be using Buffer.com. Login with your Gmail or email account and connect your YouTube channel to Buffer. You can manage up to three accounts for free. Select the channel you want to schedule your shorts for and add it to Buffer.
In the Buffer dashboard, click on “Create Post” and drag and drop the video you just created. Add a description for your shorts, which you can generate with the help of Chat GPT. Save it as a draft or schedule it for a specific time. Remember, it is recommended to schedule two to three shorts daily for a successful shorts channel.
Now that you have scheduled your shorts, let's take a look at the earning potential. Some channels have already gained thousands of views and a significant subscriber base. These popular videos can generate a decent monthly earning, ranging from $3.7k to $43.9k, depending on the channel's performance.
