Hello everyone, my name is Ben Mellor, and today we are going to delve into the fascinating world of creating stunning 3D animations using AI, and the best part is, it's absolutely free! You don't need any subscriptions, high-end hardware, or even a computer. You can do it all from your mobile device. So without further ado, let's dive straight into our video.
First of all, head over to the website deepmotion.com and sign up for an account. Simply enter your username, email address, select one of the available options, and click on the “Get Started” button. Once you've done that, you'll be prompted to log into your account through the portal. I've already created my account, so let me quickly log in.
Once you're logged in, you will be presented with the dashboard, which should look something like this. Among all the options available, the only one we're interested in is “Animate 3D.” Click on it and then click on the “Get Started” button.
On the next screen, you'll see some guidelines. They mention that the quality of your animation mostly depends on the input video. They advise against using videos with cartoon characters, people wearing loose clothing, or multiple people. For the purpose of this tutorial, we'll skip these guidelines. Feel free to read more if you want to. Additionally, they mention that there are two options available: 3D pose and 3D animation. Since we're interested in animation, we'll choose that option.
Now, we need a 3D model for our animation. Luckily, the website allows us to create our own models. Click on the button that says “Create Your Own” and you'll be presented with two options – a stylized character that resembles an anime character or a realistic Avatar. Choose whichever option suits your preferences. For this tutorial, I'll select the stylized Avatar.
Next, you can choose between a male or female character. I'll go with the female one. You also have the option to upload a picture or take a selfie if you want the Avatar to resemble you or a specific character. However, for this tutorial, we'll continue without a photo.
Now, you can choose from a variety of faces. Select the one you prefer and click on the “Next” button. Then, you have the opportunity to explore different dress options. I'll go through a few of them to see which one suits our needs best. Ah, this one looks great! I'll choose this dress. You can also change the hair color to match the dress. Let's try red. Not bad at all! I think this color is perfect. You can also choose from different hairstyles. There are plenty to choose from, but I'll go with this one because it looks really cute.
If you want, you can add some shades to the character. There are several options available. I think this one looks good. Additionally, you can add makeup to the character. The customization options are endless. Play around with these settings to create the perfect 3D model according to your preferences. You can also add tattoos or even a mask if needed. Let's try a few options and see which one looks good. I think this one suits her better, so we'll remove the sunglasses. Finally, click on the “Next” button.
If you want to reuse this Avatar in different applications, you'll be asked to create an account. However, for this tutorial, we'll continue without signing up. You can give a name to your character, and I'll name mine Serilla. Click on “Save.”
Now that we have our 3D model ready, we can start creating our animation. On this page, you have several options – create, upload, create animation, and create static pose. We'll choose “Create Animation.” In this panel, you can select your model by clicking on the “Change the Model” button. Scroll down to see your model, double click on it, and choose the reference footage or input video. For this tutorial, I'll choose a stock dancing video that I have. If your video has more than 50 characters, you might need to rename the footage.
Next, you can group your footage if it's too long and you don't want to wait for the whole video. Simply crop it down to around 5 or 4 seconds. I'll go with 5 seconds. Click on “Save.”
On the animation output settings, enable the MP4 output. By default, you'll be given a background, but if you want a solid green background to easily edit the footage later on, make sure to disable the background. You can also disable the shadow layer since we only want the 3D character. If you want an animation output, enable the necessary options such as root joint at origin, physics filter, face tracking, and hand tracking. Leave “upper body only” disabled unless needed. Once you've adjusted these settings, click on “Create” and then “Start Job.”
Now, your animation is ready! You can preview it and then click on the download button to select the output format. We'll choose MP4 since we want it in a video format. After selecting the format, click on the download button.
Now, you can add your animated footage to any video you like. For example, let's add it to this video. Click on “Effects” and search for “Ultra Key.” Drag and drop the Ultra Key effect onto your footage. In the Ultra Key settings, use the tool to select the green color as the key color. The background will be removed, and you can position the character as desired. I'll make her a little smaller. Duplicate the footage if needed.
And voila! You have your 3D animated character seamlessly integrated into your video. That's it for today's video. I hope you found this tutorial helpful.
